The museum in the village of Ruskin is one of the main attractions of the Surgut district. It was founded in 1988 by enthusiast Alexander Pavlovich Yadroshnikov. The unique taxidermy collection created by the master most fully reflects the natural wealth of the region and serves as a kind of encyclopedia of the animal world of Yugra. Thanks to the master's extensive hunting experience and talent, the museum's zoological collection stands out for its richness of material and emotional impact.

The permanent exhibition "The World of the Sacred River Trom-Agan" combines the nature of the Yugra land and the traditional culture of the Trom-Agan Khanty. It aims not only to reveal the secrets of the Khanty worldview but also to showcase the natural diversity of the region through the unique collection of A. P. Yadroshnikov. Significant attention in the exhibition is also given to the Russian old-settler population of Western Siberia. The museum's fund includes over 6,000 exhibits presented in 12 collections.

On the territory of the museum's landscape park, which occupies more than two hectares, there is a complex of traditional architecture of the Trom-Agan Khanty. The park serves as a venue for folklore festivals, ecological celebrations, workshops, and other events for adults and children. The museum building has relaxation areas, a room for museum pedagogy activities, a scientific library, and a café. Conditions have been created for people with disabilities. Museum visitors can not only enrich their knowledge but also spend time comfortably.

For children, there is a play area "Once Upon a Time..." where characters from fairy tales and works of Russian writers reside. On the virtual floor, one can explore water spaces and study animal tracks, while in the Russian hut, participate in workshops and read books. Various directions of museum pedagogy expand educational opportunities for children and adults. The hall for temporary exhibitions allows for changing displays and serves as a conference venue for events. The museum is equipped with modern interactive technologies, significantly expanding its informational and educational potential.

The "CHUM Cinema" project successfully operates in the museum, where films about the life of indigenous people, nature, and the history of Yugra are shown on screens in the exhibition and in the Khanty dwelling. The souvenir shop offers a variety of souvenirs: ethnic products made using traditional technologies, as well as items made of bone, bronze, birch bark, books, and postcards.

In addition to research and exhibition activities, museum specialists are involved in projects in the field of museum pedagogy and tourism. Each year, the museum is visited by more than 15,000 guests from different regions of the country and abroad. In 2009, as a result of a public vote, the museum was recognized as one of the seven wonders of the Tyumen region and entered the top ten most interesting cultural objects of the Ural Federal District.
