The Russian center in San Francisco was founded by emigrants in 1939. In 1953, the museum became part of this center, functioning as an independent cultural non-profit institution. Every year, a variety of public and cultural events are organized here, such as opera performances, dance concerts, folk dance classes, and lectures.
