The organizers emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions in the everyday life of the diaspora.

Mikhail Ovchinnikov, the organizer of the ball and founder of the first Russian museum in Australia, noted that the main goal of the event is to draw attention to Russian traditions, to tell about the role of the Cossacks in the history of the country, and to instill in the youth a love and respect for Russian history and culture. He emphasized that it is especially important now to preserve traditions and culture by passing them on to the new generation born in Australia, so that they become a part of their lives rather than museum exhibits. The Russian ball is a touch to the past that organically fits into our time.

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Australia, Alexey Pavlovsky, believes that the Russian ball is a new confirmation of the contribution of patrons from the Russian community to the preservation of the ethno-cultural unity of the Russian-speaking diaspora in Australia.
