Russians and Russian-speaking people have settled all over the world, and some have found their home in the small town of Reno in Nevada. Here, they work in various fields: in stores, in medicine, in IT, and in law. In the homes of immigrants, one can see icons and matryoshkas, and among their favorite dishes are pies, borscht, and the salad "herring under a fur coat," which seem exotic to the locals.

Reno also regularly hosts Russian festivals, where traditional dishes are offered at the food market.

The newspaper "Russian America" reported that at the Russian festival, guests enjoyed the magnificent voice of opera singer Irina Kasimova, Russian melodies performed by the Sierra Balalaika ensemble, solo performances on the bayan by Fyodor Pavlovets from the Belarusian Philharmonic, as well as lively dances by the Reno Folk Dance ensemble and other groups.

Interestingly, Reno is a sister city to the Russian Nalchik, creating a unique Russian-American connection.
