Russians began to settle in Namibia only at the end of the last century. Some of them have already opened their businesses there. For example, the ZOO restaurant in Windhoek is owned by a Russian couple, and the waiters are mainly from the Krasnodar region. Waitress Diana shares: "We live here fine, as long as there is work. Many of our girls have married Namibians through the internet. The local white residents treat us with interest and without arrogance. Here, any white person is a brother and friend to another white!"

Diana is married to a white African of German descent. He treats her well, but, according to her, that is not enough. Diana continues: "The population of Windhoek is about the same as in Belgorod or Poltava. There are no traffic jams, the air is clean, and no one is in a hurry. Everyone has time! When I first arrived here, I felt like I was in the USA, in Texas or Arizona. The surroundings are semi-desert, with many white and black people, civilization, and the English language. I couldn't help but joke: oh, America, hello!"

Some Russians organize tours around Namibia, including Etosha National Park, Swakopmund, the Skeleton Coast, Ai-Ais, the Namib Desert, and the Kalahari.

About 2,000 locals speak Russian to some extent, as they studied at Soviet or Russian universities. There is also an Orthodox church of Saint Mark the Apostle in Namibia, where services are held periodically.
