The largest portion is concentrated in the town of Pikesville, where 19.3% of the state's Russian-speaking population resides, meaning one in five residents. As a result, there are many Russian stores in Maryland offering national products. The surroundings of Baltimore consist of forests, streams, and hills, home to many wild animals.

Gennady Khristich, who moved from the Moscow region of Khimki, shares his experience of living in the USA: "Finding a job here is quite easy. I have always wanted to work in the food industry because I love cooking. So I tried my hand at several restaurants and cafes, and now I have been working at a golf club for the third season. The job is good, the place is excellent, and the people are friendly. Getting this position was not easy; I had to go through four interviews because they are very thorough in their hiring process. Russian speakers here have their own stores, restaurants, pharmacies, insurance agents, lawyers, and newspapers. In my experience, the extensive Russian community provides significant support in the beginning. Rarely does anyone come to the USA with a good command of English, a sought-after specialty, and a clear understanding of why they are here. Most start their careers working for fellow countrymen. Usually, the owners of Russian companies are Jews who moved here 20-30 years ago. They are friendly and responsive people, but they clearly understand that you have no other choice. Overall, I like life in America. They say that everyone who comes discovers their own America. I would add that what this 'own America' will be like depends solely on the individual."
