In the Armed Forces Museum of Copenhagen, located in Denmark, items belonging to a simple Kuban Cossack, Timofey Yashchik, from the village of Novominskaya are still preserved.

Among these items are Timofey Yashchik's personal belongings: a Circassian coat with daggers, a revolver, a sabre, a dagger, documents, and a dining set with the coats of arms of the Danish royal house. The silver fork, knife, and spoon are striking in their size, resembling garden tools more than elegant palace utensils. Yashchik was a tall man, nearly two meters, and his hands were more accustomed to the plow and sabre than to the refined items of a social feast, says museum employee Vibeke Jenewoldsen. He never asked anything from Maria Feodorovna, but once complained that he could not handle the small utensils in the palace kitchen. Therefore, he was provided with a personal 'tool'.

Danish military personnel bring cadets to the museum and tell how the Kuban Cossack, having taken an oath, remained faithful to it forever.

The fact is that the last Russian emperor, Nicholas II, entrusted Timofey with guarding his mother, Empress Maria Feodorovna, who was a Danish princess by birth. In 1918, while saving the empress from the Bolsheviks, the Cossack first hid her and Nicholas II's sister, Princess Olga, with her newborn son, in his native village, and then transported them to Copenhagen. The news of the execution of the royal family shocked Timofey so much that he slept at the doors of the empress's chambers, spreading his cloak on the palace parquet and placing a loaded revolver at his head. After the death of Maria Feodorovna in 1928, he stood guard at her coffin for three days, completing his service.

Recently, collector of rare weapons Sergey Talantov, having purchased the dagger of chamber Cossack Yashchik at a closed auction in Denmark, donated it to the Krasnodar Museum named after E. Felitsin.
