Russians in Mexico hold a fairly high social status. Among them are many lawyers, merchants, and doctors. For example, in Mexico City, there is a prestigious private clinic owned by Dmitry Osmanchuk. In Cuernavaca, where the Mexican elite resides, a fashionable Russian restaurant is popular.

In northern Mexico, in the town of Ensenada, a large research center for nanotechnology has recently opened, comparable to the Skolkovo project being developed in Russia. The center employs about twenty specialists, mostly from Novosibirsk Akademgorodok.

Russian physicist and mathematician Alexander Balankin, author of over 250 inventions and a UNESCO prizewinner, is a member of the Advisory Council on Science under the President of Mexico.

It is also worth noting the Russian engineers and oil workers who played an important role in the development of the Mexican oil industry. Ivan Korzhukhin founded the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in the 1920s, while Vladimir Olkhovich, together with Mexican colleagues, discovered dozens of rich oil fields.

Mexican artist of Russian descent Vladimir Kibalchich, known as Vladi, is recognized as one of the outstanding artists in the world and was named the man of the second millennium in the field of visual arts.

In Mexico City, over a hundred streets bear Russian names, immortalizing the names of such prominent figures in Russian history and culture as Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Leo Tolstoy, Pushkin, Stanislavsky, Yuri Gagarin, and Sergei Eisenstein.
