Russian Chapel

In Gomel, the chapel was built between 1870 and 1889 in the Russian style under the guidance of academician of architecture E. Chervinsky. The project was developed with the participation of A. K. Pelya and was located next to the Peter and Paul Cathedral. The chapel was constructed at the initiative of Fyodor Ivanovich Paskevich for the burial of his family members, who owned the Gomel palace and park from 1834 to 1918. The construction was carried out by St. Petersburg architects M. E. Mesmakher and O. E. Wegener. The artistic design was done by S. Sadikov, a graduate of the Baron Stieglitz Academy in St. Petersburg.
