The history of this building, known to lovers of antiquity from pre-revolutionary postcards, has been preserved only in a small volume. It was built in the last quarter of the 19th century in Vakurov Park. On the territory of the former estate of Governor Panchulidzev, merchant Vakurov opened a summer theater and restaurant. An elegant single-story building was accessed by an arch with carved gates and the inscription 'Park', while the restaurant's grounds were adorned with a fountain and flowerbed.

In the 1930s, in preparation for the opening of the city park, almost all old buildings, including the restaurant, were demolished. In its place, a grand entrance appeared from Chernyshevsky Street.
