The history of the Reineke family in Russia began in July 1767, when Johann Reineke settled in the Popovka colony of the Kamyshin district of the Saratov province. The Saratov newspaper reported that he received a loan from the office of the guardianship of foreign settlers for two horses, a bridle, a cart, a yoke, eight fathoms of rope, and 25 rubles. Initially, the family was engaged in the textile industry, producing the popular sarpinka. For 40-50 years, the Reineke, Borel, and Schmidt families continued this production while simultaneously investing in the milling business.

Kondratiy Egorovich Reineke laid the foundation for the creation of a trading house by renting water mills together with Mr. Schmidt, and then dividing the business with him. As a result, he acquired the "Poyarkovskaya" mill on the Latryk River. Later, he and his brothers rented several more mills: "Dmitrievskaya", "Cherdymskaya", "Srednyaya", and "Karamyshevskaya". Kondratiy Egorovich passed the business to his sons Ivan and Kondratiy, who in 1877 and 1878 purchased plots for the construction of steam flour mills. In 1878, they established a trading partnership for twenty years called "Trading House of Brothers Ivan and Kondratiy Reineke" and in 1879 built a steam roller flour mill in Saratov.

After the death of Ivan Kondratievich in 1884, Kondratiy Kondratievich became the sole owner of the enterprise, but the firm continued to be called "Trading House of Brothers Ivan and Kondratiy Reineke". On January 1, 1899, to expand the business, Kondratiy Kondratievich took four of his sons into the partnership, founding the firm "Trading House Kondratiy Reineke and Sons". Alexander, Konstantin, Kondratiy, and Vladimir became its owners. The Reineke products were renowned for their high quality, which was confirmed by international recognition: in 1897, at the exhibition in Stockholm, the trading houses of the Schmidts, Reineke, and Skvortsov received gold medals for the best samples of flour products.

The Reineke family not only invested in profitable enterprises but also actively engaged in social and cultural activities. They are mentioned among the benefactors who helped Governor Maria Alexeyevna Meshcherskaya organize public dining halls for the poor. Arnold Reineke, along with actor and director K. N. Nezlobin, founded the Russian Drama Theater in St. Petersburg. Arthur and Vladimir Reineke were active members of the Saratov Society for the Promotion of Trotting Horse Breeding and participated in the management of the horse breeding farm.

The Reineke family made a significant contribution to the historical and architectural appearance of modern Saratov, leaving behind numerous buildings and mansions of various styles.
