In 2015, the Kantemirovsky District Local History Museum celebrated its 30th anniversary. It was founded in December 1984 thanks to the efforts of teachers, students, and the local community. Initially, the museum was located in an old separate building, but over the years it has undergone changes and enriched itself with new exhibits. Today, its collection includes more than two thousand items of historical and educational value. Since 2008, the museum has been granted the status of an official local history institution.

During the reconstruction of the district House of Culture, it was decided to move the museum to the palace building. This allowed for the creation of new halls and exhibitions, where important items and collections reflecting the material and spiritual culture of the district are presented.

The new museum has four exhibition halls: the history and everyday life of the district, the Great Patriotic War, the cultural space in the history of the district, and the hall of international friendship.

The museum's exhibitions allow visitors to immerse themselves in the history of Kantemirovka, learn about the everyday life and traditions of the region, the life of settlements during the Great Patriotic War, the occupation and liberation of Kantemirovka, the cultural life of the people, and the development of international relations.

In addition to historical halls, the museum has thematic corners: a border guard corner, a nature corner, and a railway worker corner.

In the "History and Everyday Life" hall, exhibits tell about the past of the region, the life and occupations of peasants. Visitors can see the interior of a peasant's hut and an ethnographic collection that includes household items, tools, and clothing samples from the late 18th to early 20th centuries. The history of the formation of Kantemirovka and the villages of the district is presented on stands, maps, and diagrams. Photodocuments revealing the historical past of Kantemirovka are of particular interest.

The "Great Patriotic War" hall is dedicated to the heroic past of the district during the war. It covers the participation of local residents on the front lines and in the rear, the occupation and liberation of Kantemirovka, as well as the friendship with the tank division that liberated the city.

The hall features documents, photographs, an exhibition of a bunker with soldier helmets, flasks, and mess kits. Portraits of fellow countrymen who became Heroes of the Soviet Union hang on the walls. From the first days of the war, underground groups and partisan units operated in the district. About 10,000 residents went to the front, and about 2,000 returned.

Here are kept the Books of Memory, books and albums, memoirs of participants and veterans of the war, as well as materials dedicated to the anniversaries of Victory.

All the exhibits presented help preserve the memories of eyewitnesses and participants of one of the most heroic and tragic events of the 20th century for future generations.
