The Kondinsk District Local History Museum named after N.S. Tsekhnova was established based on the room of labor and military glory of the RK CPSU library. Since January 1, 1987, it has held the status of a people's museum, and since July 1, 1989, it has become part of the network of museums in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Ugra.
The museum engages in exhibition, scientific, educational, and publishing activities. Its collections hold over 14,000 exhibits. The ethnographic collection vividly reflects the characteristics of the region. The largest collection of the museum includes written sources and photo documents. Unique are the collections of graphics and paintings by artists D.M. Zmanovsky and Yu.N. Korobeynikov, as well as icons that represent a special value in the artistic fund.
The exhibition area of the museum is 205 square meters and includes five halls: nature of the region, ethnography hall, room of Russian life, hall of contemporary history, and hall of temporary exhibitions.
The museum has a scientific library that collects books on the history of Siberia, geography, ethnography, archaeology, and art. It actively engages in cultural and educational activities, conducting museum lessons, lectures, interactive tours, competitions, programs, and events.
