The District Historical Museum is an important landmark reflecting the cultural and historical heritage of the area. Founded in 1975 by educator Semyon Mikhailovich Cherevan, it began its activities as a "Combat and Labor Glory" room in the district House of Culture. In April 1987, the museum was awarded the title of "People's Museum" based on the certificate from the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR No. 366.

According to the district administration's order from April 4, 1995, the museum was provided with the building of the former savings bank at 88 Pervomaysky Lane, built in 1911. In June 2001, the museum received the status of a Municipal Cultural Institution, and its collection numbered 3,900 exhibits. Svetlana Alexeyevna Sorokina became the director.

From 2002 to September 2020, the museum was headed by Lyudmila Petrovna Shapovalova, and since October 2020, Irina Gennadyevna Sus has been the director. The museum carefully collects and preserves exhibits that are witnesses of the past and actively promotes them.

The main activities of the museum are aimed at preserving and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of the Krasnodar Territory and Kuschyovskaya District, as well as at patriotic education of youth and the formation of spiritual and moral qualities. The museum provides methodological assistance to educational institutions on the course "Kuban Studies" and conducts field excursions.

The museum collaborates with folk craftsmen, collectors, artists, and educational institutions. Based on the museum's archival documents, books about the history of the district have been published, and films about significant events and personalities have been made.

Annually, the museum is visited by more than 7,000 people, for whom about 300 events are organized. The museum's collection is replenished by 150-200 exhibits each year and currently includes 7,687 items, of which 5,303 belong to the main fund. This includes paintings, rare books, applied arts, documents, and much more that preserves the history of the district.

Visitors to the museum can immerse themselves in the past in a short time, see events from different eras, and get acquainted with authentic documents and exhibits that provide insight into important moments of our history.
