Boris Konstantinovich Pronin, born on December 17, 1875, in Chernihiv and died on October 29, 1946, in Leningrad, was a renowned director, theater figure, and actor. He actively participated in various theatrical projects associated with V. E. Meyerhold and became the creator of literary cabarets in Petersburg, such as "The Wandering Dog" and "The Comedians' Rest."

Pronin began his education at Petersburg University in 1897 and then continued his studies at Moscow University. From 1903 to 1905, he worked at the Moscow Art Theater and studied at its school. He participated in the creation of the Studio Theater at the MHT, known as the Studio on Povarskaya, and took part in the tours of the New Drama Society under the direction of V. E. Meyerhold in 1906. In 1906-1907, he worked at the V. F. Komissarzhevskaya Theater in Petersburg. Pronin was one of the organizers of the miniature theater "Lukomorye" in 1908, the Society of Intimate Theater, and the House of Intermediaries in 1910-1911. He also organized and directed the cabaret theaters "The Wandering Dog" from 1912 to 1916 and "The Comedians' Rest" from 1916 to 1919. In the 1930s, Pronin performed as an actor at the Leningrad Academic Drama Theater.
