The Pristen Local History Museum was established by the district administration's order. In 2003, it became part of the Kursk Regional Local History Museum. The museum's collection includes about 2000 exhibits, and its exhibition area is 114 square meters. The museum's exhibition covers the history of the Pristen district from the mid-19th century to the present.

Local residents take special pride in their outstanding fellow countrymen. The museum features paintings by N.P. Menshikov, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, concert posters of composer and conductor V.F. Gridin, manuscripts and books by M.N. Yeskov, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, as well as photo reports by journalist and TV reviewer V.P. Beketov.

Each year, the museum is visited by more than 4000 people. It operates on the following schedule: Monday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, as well as on Saturday and Sunday. The last Friday of each month is a sanitation day.
