The museum-reserve is home to monuments of both regional and federal significance. Among them are archaeological sites from the 9th-10th centuries, the Mayatsky archaeological complex, as well as Bronze Age monuments from the 2nd millennium BC, including burial mounds and settlements. It also features Upper Paleolithic sites and historical and architectural monuments, such as the chalk cave churches from the mid-17th century in Bolshie and Malye Divy, and the cave church 'Divnogorskaya-3' from the mid-19th century. Natural monuments include the chalk pillars-Divy, unique landscape formations, relict vegetation, and endemic insects.

On the protected territory, designated for environmental and historical-cultural purposes, there is the male Holy Assumption Divnogorye Monastery.

The 'Divnogorye' museum-reserve is an open-air museum. Its humanitarian, historical-cultural, and natural resources allow for the demonstration of all monuments in their natural and historical context within a small area.

The entire territory of the museum-reserve is viewed as a single exhibition complex. Therefore, the museum staff strives to create a cohesive image so that visitors can fully grasp the information about Divnogorye. The exhibition of the territory itself and the diverse monuments of archaeology, architecture, and nature recreates the cultural phenomena of the Voronezh region.

The main activities of the museum-reserve include the collection, storage, and accounting of museum items and collections, excursion and tourism activities, scientific research work, including archaeological and ethnographic expeditions, cultural project activities, informational and promotional activities, as well as exhibition and publishing activities.
