The Orthodox parish of the Moscow Patriarchate in Turin is dedicated to Saint Maximus, the first bishop of the city and a father of the Church, who lived in the 5th century. The saint's feast day is celebrated on July 8 (June 25 in the old style).

The parish is part of the Korsun Diocese, like other parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal.

The community, founded by Italian believers in 1993, marked the beginning of the parish of Saint Maximus. Initially, the parish did not have a permanent place for worship. Since 2001, it has been located in the Church of Christ the Redeemer on the Turin hills.

Services are conducted according to the church charter of the Russian Orthodox Church. The language of the service is chosen based on the background of the parishioners, and it is most often Italian, Church Slavonic, and Romanian.

Most of the parishioners are from Moldova, with many Ukrainians, Russians, and Italians, as well as believers from Belarus, Romania, former Yugoslavia, Georgia, and Bulgaria.

The Italians who organized the parish have proven to be its founders and caring guardians for believers arriving in Italy.

For all those interested in the life of the parish, educational work is carried out: liturgical and hymnographic texts are translated into Italian.

The parish actively seeks to develop relationships with representatives of other Christian denominations, engaging in dialogue on matters of faith with Christians of various confessions.

Despite the lack of funding and existing solely on donations, the community does not forget the material difficulties faced by immigrants. In addition to spiritual care, it also develops social services.
