Parish in Honor of the Holy Trinity in Quito

Фото 1
The Orthodox corner of Russia is located almost in the center of the capital of Ecuador, in a small room on the third floor of an office building called "Casa de Moscu" (Moscow House). This building is temporarily unused and was kindly provided by the Russian embassy for church needs back when Yana Burlyae was in charge.

Among the parishioners, one can find not only Russians who have recently lived in Ecuador or have been here for many years and have children and grandchildren born and raised here, but also Orthodox Arabs and Ecuadorians who have embraced Orthodoxy. In these challenging times, people make an effort to visit this small but very cozy church, whether they are tourists, guests, or those who have come for business. Russians, Ukrainians, Germans, Argentinians, and citizens of other countries are united here by their Orthodox faith. Services are conducted in three languages so that every believer can feel the warmth of the soul.

The rector of the Holy Trinity parish in Quito, Archpriest Alexey Karpov, notes that among the parishioners, there is a predominance of Russian women who have married Ecuadorian students. Many of them have lived in Ecuador for 15-20 years, while some have arrived recently. The parish also cares for several ethnic Ecuadorians and two Orthodox Arab families with children.
