In Malaysia, Orthodoxy is represented by the parish of the Russian Orthodox Church dedicated to Archangel Michael, located in Kuala Lumpur. The Holy Synod appointed Priest Sergey Malashkin as the parish rector, and the pastoral care is entrusted to Bishop Sergey (Chashin) of Solnechnogorsk, a vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus.
A Orthodox parish in honor of Archangel Michael, the archistrategos of the heavenly host, was established in Kuala Lumpur. The Russian government allocated a small plot with a house for the needs of the Russian Orthodox Church. This plot is located on Damai Lane, in the Ampang street area.
The house on the plot needed repairs and was converted into a church. The parishioners also cleared the overgrown area around the house.
