Viktor Ivanovich Pribytkov (1837/1840, 1910), a retired captain of the 1st rank, edited and published the weekly magazine "Rebus" from 1881 to 1904, which became the first periodic publication in Russia dedicated to spiritism and magnetism. He also owned the estate of Pribytkovo. Among the local residents, he was called "the admiral," and he actively contributed to the development of spiritism in St. Petersburg and Russia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Rebus," dedicated to spiritism and mediumship, Viktor Ivanovich organized numerous sessions at his dacha. These ritual sessions included both his relatives and representatives of the high society of St. Petersburg. During one of these sessions, the founder of the house passed away.
