Raifa Monastery's Kazan Courtyard

Фото 1
The Kazan courtyard was transferred to the Raifa Mother of God Men's Monastery in 1998, and in 2000 it found new life. Previously, the courtyard was home to the Church of the Moscow Miracle Workers, which was completely destroyed after its closure in 1929, leaving only a partially ruined bell tower. The buildings of the church parish school and chapel were preserved, and it is from them that the new history of the courtyard began.

The first prayers were heard in the chapel of Saint Alexander Nevsky. The first flower beds were planted, among which a cross was erected in memory of the Martyrs for the Faith. On May 2, 2001, a church in honor of the Myrrh-Bearing Women was consecrated, located in the former building of the parish clergy. In this same building, sewing and carpentry workshops, cells for novices, a Sunday school, and a refectory were established.
