With the arrival of Cossacks in the Kuban lands, a postal service was organized. The first post station was located beyond Karasun, near the crossing to Kozet. On March 5, 1866, the postal service officially began operations in the Yekaterinodar stanitsa. The first four mailboxes were installed on the streets: three on Krasnaya Street and one on Dmitrievskaya Square. Correspondence was collected four times a week.

Initially, the post office did not have its own building and was located in rented premises. In 1911, permission was granted to construct a special building for the postal and telegraph office. Designing and budgeting took two years, and only in 1913 did construction begin at the corner of Karasunskaya and Rashpilevskaya Streets, where the winter theater-circus of Zlobin used to be. The project was led by architects I.K. Malgerb and A.P. Kosiakin.

On October 13, 1915, a note appeared in the local newspaper:

"The new post office building makes an extremely favorable impression on visitors both with its exterior appearance and internal arrangement."

The four-story building had a spacious operational hall, while the upper floors housed the telegraph, dining rooms, a library, and apartments for the management. The basement contained steam boilers, a dynamo, a bathhouse, and an archive. The grand opening of the Yekaterinodar postal and telegraph office took place on November 15, 1915.

During World War II, the building was destroyed but was later restored to its original form. Today, this beautiful building houses the Kuban Post, the Krasnodar Main Post Office.
