Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral in California

Фото 1
In 1977, the Saint Peter and Paul Orthodox Cathedral was founded by Russian emigrants in Santa Rosa, California. The construction was blessed by Archbishop Anthony (Medvedev), and the project and management of the works were carried out by Russian architect Vladimir Vladimirovich Granitov, known for his involvement in military and charitable organizations.

By the time the construction was completed, the cathedral already had its community, and services were held in the house of Archbishop Anthony. The choice of location for the temple was not accidental, as the North Bay area had long attracted Russian emigrants. Now they could not only walk with their families but also attend Orthodox services. The temple continues to operate and annually welcomes thousands of believers.

Today, the rector of the Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral is Archpriest Alexander Krasovsky. In 2014, under the guidance of the temple's regent, the XXIII Church Singing Congress took place here, gathering many singers from different countries. The temple often hosts spiritual events featuring professors and clergymen, and recently the iconostasis was renovated.
