Commercial mansions have always been among the most recognizable buildings in Syzran. One such building is the house of merchant Efim Kozhin, located at the corner of Bolshaya Street (now Soviet) and Parfenovsky Lane (now Stepan Razin). This three-story building with a concise decor was constructed in 1880. Its architecture combines elements of pseudo-Russian and classical styles, which is called eclecticism. The monumental and representative building harmoniously fits into the urban environment.
A few years after its completion, the building was leased to the State Bank and then sold to it. Later, a cash settlement center was established here.
