The sculpture consists of two elements: a figure of a photographer and a round frame with large ears, into which one can insert their face for a photo. It is located on the main street of Perm, Komsomolsky Avenue, near the "Prikamye" hotel. The monument was opened on April 1, 2006, and its author is Rustam Ismagilov.

"Permian salted ears" is a traditional nickname for the residents of the Perm region. According to legend, it is related to salt production, which was widespread in the area, and the start of salt mining in Solikamsk. Workers carried salt in bags on their backs, and it would fall on their heads, getting onto their ears, which supposedly made them large and salty.

In 2009, the magazine "Russian World" named this monument the "strangest" in Russia.
