In Rostov-on-Don, near the suburban train station, at the beginning of Bolshaya Sadovaya Street, there is an interesting composition of natural stones and bronze in the shape of a ship. This is the memorial sign 'Caravella'. On its board, there is a plaque that reads: 'On December 15, 1749, the Temernitskaya customs was established here, laying the foundation for the city of Rostov-on-Don.'
This memorial sign is one of the well-known landmarks of the city, known to every resident of Rostov. It is connected to the history of the founding of the fortress 'Rostov.'
