Memorial Sign Historic Center of Yaroslavl

A bronze map depicting the center of Yaroslavl, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, was installed on August 25, 2017, in the square at Sovetskaya or Ilyinskaya Square, south of the Church of Elijah the Prophet. The map represents the modern appearance of the central part of Yaroslavl. The composition was created by Nikolai Alexandrovich Mukhin, a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, a People's Artist of Russia, the founder of the creative association 'Yaroslavl Icon', and a member of the presidium of the Council for Culture and Art under the President of the Russian Federation.

The ceremonial opening of the memorial sign was attended by the Acting Governor of the Yaroslavl Region D.Yu. Mironov, the Mayor of Moscow S.S. Sobyanin, the Metropolitan of Yaroslavl and Rostov Panteleimon, as well as numerous guests and officials.
