A memorial wooden cross has been erected in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin at the site where the Spaso-Transfiguration Cathedral once stood. This cathedral, founded in 1225, was the oldest temple in the city. Within its walls rested the princes of Nizhny Novgorod-Suzdal and Kuzma Minin.
