The Monument to the Victims of the Revolution is located at Mars Field in St. Petersburg. It was opened on March 23, 1917, coinciding with the solemn funerals of 184 people who died in the street battles of the February Revolution of 1917.

A total of 1,382 people died in those events, and in their honor, the Peter and Paul Fortress fired cannon shots as a tribute. The monument's design, created by architect L. V. Rudnev, consists of a square platform surrounded by granite walls with memorial inscriptions.

The construction of the monument was completed only in 1919, and blocks from the dismantled granite base of the Salyan Buoy building were used for its creation. In 1957, the first Eternal Flame in the Soviet Union was lit at the monument.
