In the park named after I.M. Poddubny in Yeisk, at the square at the end of the Happy Childhood alley, a monument to Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom has been erected.

According to legend, Prince Peter of Murom fell ill with leprosy several years before ascending to the throne. In a dream, he had a vision that a peasant girl from Laskovo in the Ryazan region, the daughter of a beekeeper, could heal him. Peter fell in love with the girl at first sight and promised to marry her after he recovered. He kept his promise and made Fevronia a princess. However, the boyars did not want to see a peasant woman as a princess and demanded her exile. Peter remained faithful to his wife, and they left Murom together by boat. Later, the people insisted on their return to the throne.

Today, Saints Peter and Fevronia are considered the patrons of family and marriage. Recently, the holiday in their honor, celebrated on July 8 (June 25 according to the church calendar), has been gaining popularity. Monuments to Peter and Fevronia are being erected in various cities. The daisy is the symbol of this holiday.

The Yeisk monument was solemnly opened on July 8, 2010. Initially, the bronze sculpture, cast in Rostov-on-Don, was planned to be installed in Bataisk, Rostov region. However, due to a lack of funds from the local administration, the monument, created by sculptor Anatoly Skarnir, was installed in the Yeisk park. Flowerbeds were planted around the monument, and benches were placed. It quickly became popular, and almost every wedding considers it a duty to visit the park to ask for the saints' blessing.
