In 1984, the monument 'Rostov Woman' was installed in Rostov-on-Don, dedicated to the women of the Southern capital, whose beauty has become legendary. It was created by the then-budding, now well-known sculptor Anatoly Sknarin. The sculpture is located on the city embankment.

The 'Rostov Woman' monument is made entirely of bronze and depicts a young girl with flowing hair. She has her arms outstretched and her face turned to the sun, reminiscent of the ancient Greek goddess Aphrodite. Later, a beautiful fountain appeared in front of the sculpture, enhancing the associations with the image of Aphrodite.

This symbol of Rostov-on-Don is adorned with a marble plaque featuring golden verses by Lev Oshanina, dedicated to the women of Rostov. Among the lines are the words: 'Rostov women, people of all-Union beauty!'.
