On November 21, 2011, a monument was unveiled in Rostov-on-Don to the outstanding scientist and long-time professor of Rostov State University, Yuri Andreevich Zhdanov. The monument is located in front of the library building of the Southern Federal University, which bears his name (Paramonov Mansion). Hundreds of teachers, students, and city residents attended the ceremony.

The monument is a bronze bust set on a marble pedestal. The work was created by the renowned Rostov sculptor, academician, and member of the presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, Sergey Nikolayevich Oleshny.
