In Rostov-on-Don, one of the most unusual sculptures is the monument to the brewer. It was made in Germany and gifted to the city by its twin city, Dortmund. The sculpture is made of bronze and depicts a good-natured man with a beer barrel, symbolizing the friendship between Russia and Germany.
In 1983, this monument was installed in Dortmund Square on Trudovikov Square in Rostov-on-Don. In response to this gift, the residents of Rostov sent a sculpture of foals to Dortmund, symbolizing good beginnings. Although few remember this exchange now, the good-natured brewer still attracts the attention of tourists.
