The monument to Peter I is located in the courtyard of the Aberg Hotel on Doubska Mountain, which has an elevation of 609 meters above sea level. This mountain is situated 3.5 km southwest of the center of Karlovy Vary. The hotel, which includes a country restaurant, a dance floor, and an observation tower, was built according to the design of architect Rudolf Melichar in 1904-1905.

From 1995 to 1997, the owner of the property carried out renovations, transforming the building into the luxurious 4-star hotel "Aberg." In the fall of 2014, the property underwent reconstruction again. According to local residents, the entire complex belongs to émigrés from Russia.

In the tiled courtyard of the hotel stands the monument to Peter I. This life-sized bronze sculpture, crafted with fine casting, rises on a rough-hewn boulder. The monument is located in the center of a round "flowerbed" paved with kleinpflaster. The tsar is depicted in the guise of a European dandy, adorned with the Order of St. Andrew, in lace, with a finger pointed outward. The height of the sculpture, along with the octagonal pedestal plate, is 113 cm. Behind the sculpture, on the same stone, is an old cast-iron pounder cannon on a wooden carriage with wheels covered in sheet iron. The cannon, which has an internal barrel diameter of 53 mm and a length of 97 cm, forms a unified ensemble with the monument. A bronze plaque is affixed to the stone, inscribed: "Petr I. / 1711-1712 / Karlovy Vary." The monument was installed after 1997.
