On the central alley of the Frunze Park in Novorossiysk, a monument has been erected in honor of the city's residents who fell in unannounced wars. This monument, created by sculptor A. Suvorov, was solemnly opened on December 20, 2006. It is dedicated to the Novorossiysk residents who perished in modern unannounced wars and armed conflicts.

Initially, the monument featured two grieving angels who, kneeling, hold a shield inscribed with the names and ranks of 27 fallen warriors, two of whom were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia. These figures are set on a pedestal clad in granite tiles.

A few years later, a rectangular obelisk appeared behind the bronze monument, also clad in granite and topped with a star and laurel wreaths. The obelisk features five memorial plaques with the names and ranks of another 20 residents of Novorossiysk who died in modern wars and conflicts. These plaques commemorate not only soldiers but also law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.

When the obelisk was installed, a comma was added to the main inscription on the shield after the word 'Novorossiysk residents.'

The sculptural composition is distinguished by its beauty and expressiveness. People constantly visit the monument, laying wreaths and flowers, paying tribute to the warriors who perished in peacetime while defending the national interests of our Motherland.
