All tourists arriving by train are greeted at the station exit by the symbol of the city, the proud and majestic eagle. The statue stands on a pedestal in the shape of a sphere, depicting the Earth, on which the outlines of the continents can be distinguished.
The bird is crafted very realistically: the master has detailed the clawed feet with small scales, the predatory gaze, and each feather in the outstretched wings.
The bronze figure, created by the Kursk sculptor Yuri Kireev, was installed in front of the station in 2016 in honor of the city's 450th anniversary. Since then, it has become a symbol and a calling card of Oryol.
