In October 2009, the first monument in Russia dedicated to the outstanding philosopher Nikolai Fedorovich Fedorov was unveiled in the center of Borovsk on Lenin Square. The monument was created by sculptor Artem Vlasov, who used a portrait of the thinker painted by artist O.L. Pasternak in his work.

The decision to install a monument to one of the founders of Russian cosmism was made near the library building. Nikolai Fedorov, who lived in the 19th century, is known as a religious thinker and futurist philosopher. He became famous for his initiatives in the development of library science and educational ideas. For several years, Fedorov taught at the Borovsk district school, leaving a significant mark in the history of Borovsk.
