Monument to Mothers of Russia in Yeysk

Фото 1
In the city park named after M. Gorky in Yeysk, a monument to the mothers of Russia has been erected, depicting a young woman with a child on her bent right arm. On the pedestal of the sculpture, there is a concise inscription: "A low bow to you, Mother of Russia." This work can be considered an allegorical sculpture. The light color of the pedestal and figures, strict lines, and expressiveness of the image are characteristic of sculptures that became popular in the early post-war years in the USSR.

During the period of "Stalinist Empire" several reinforced concrete sculptural compositions were installed in the park, but most of them have deteriorated over time. Only two have survived to this day: the monument to the people's avenger and this sculpture, symbolizing motherhood and often referred to by locals as "Mother and Child."
