In the center of Rostov-on-Don stands the memorial 'Small North Caucasian Railway', a monument to the narrow-gauge locomotive Kch4-101, installed in the city’s railway station square.

This monument is a real locomotive that was previously used on a children's railway. After many years of service, it was decommissioned and placed as a monument near the 'Young Railwayman' club. In 2000, the locomotive was mounted on a pedestal and moved to the railway station square.

The locomotive was built in 1949 in Czechoslovakia at factory No. 2139 Škoda. Its feature is the ability to adapt to various passability conditions. For example, in winter or when climbing a hill, the engineer would open a special valve, and sand would start pouring from the locomotive's box. This improved the grip of the wheels on the rails and increased passability. Despite its age, the locomotive is well-preserved and may still be capable of moving. It especially attracts children, who often take photos with it.
