The monument to Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov is located in the Theater Square next to the dramatic theater named after this great poet. Lermontov is closely connected with the history of the North Caucasus and Stavropol, which in his time was considered the 'gateway' to the region.

The bronze statue, four meters tall, is set on a marble pedestal. The poet is depicted in a leisurely stroll with a thoughtful expression; the edges of his cloak seem to flutter in the wind, giving the monument a sense of movement and lightness. The monument is surrounded by trees and serves as the beginning of the main alley of the square.
