In 2012, the monument to Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov in the Kislovodsk National Park was returned to Mount Krasnoe Solnyshko, which was originally chosen for it by the sculptor Nikolai Khodov.

Initially, in 2004, the monument to the great poet, created by the sculptor, was installed in Vladikavkaz. However, it was soon dismantled and transported to Kislovodsk, where it was ceremoniously installed on Mount Krasnoe Solnyshko on May 27, 2006. Five years later, in 2013, the sculpture was moved to the Lermontov Embankment by the Olkhovka River, although the author aimed to capture Lermontov on the mountain, looking out towards Elbrus.

The park management is confident that the monument to the poet, beloved by visitors, will remain as popular a landmark as before. And over time, a new sculptural composition featuring 19th-century characters will appear on the Olkhovka Embankment.
