On April 7, 2005, in Krasnodar, in honor of the Annunciation holiday, a monument dedicated to the Kuban Cossacks, the founders of the Kuban land, was ceremoniously opened.

The monument is located at the administration building of the Krasnodar Territory on Krasnaya Street, 35.

The monument was made in Rostov and delivered to Krasnodar by helicopter on March 12.

The authors of the monument are Krasnodar sculptor Alexander Apollonov, architect Viktor Syrmolotov, and the head of the Rostov art studio Valery Taranenko.

The sculptor depicted the spirit of Cossackdom as a mounted figure of a Kuban Cossack. Initially, the rider was 'dressed' in the style of the Zaporozhian Cossacks who settled in Kuban at the end of the 18th century, but in the final version, the uniform of the Black Sea Cossacks was used.

The height of the monument is over four meters, and with the pedestal, it reaches 7.2 meters. The historical prototype of the pioneering Cossack and defender of the Fatherland is the military judge Anton Golovaty.
