In 2004, a monument to Admiral Kolchak was erected in Irkutsk, created by the People's Artist of Russia V. M. Klykov. The installation was initiated by Sergey Andreev. The opening took place on November 4, 2004, coinciding with the 130th anniversary of A. V. Kolchak's birth, in the Right Bank district near the Znamensky Monastery, at the site of the presumed execution. The monument is made of forged copper, with the figure standing 4.5 meters tall. On the concrete pedestal, two warriors, a Red Guard and a White Guard, are depicted crossing their weapons. According to Klykov, the monument symbolizes the end of the fratricidal civil war and the reconciliation of a divided society. At the opening ceremony, guests noted that Admiral Kolchak entered history not only as one of the leaders of the White Guard but also as a talented naval commander and an explorer of Siberia and the Arctic.
