The monument to Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev, an outstanding classic of Russian literature, is located in the Festival microdistrict of Krasnodar, near the residential complex "Turgenev" at the intersection of Turgenev and Dalny streets. This is the first monument to the famous writer in the city.

The composition was created by Krasnodar sculptor Migran Arutyunyan. He depicted Turgenev sitting on a bench with a book in hand, with a dog beside him. The sculpture, made of bronze, weighs about 700 kilograms.

The monument was installed in Krasnodar on November 9, 2018, in honor of the 200th anniversary of Turgenev's birth. Ivan Sergeyevich was born on November 9, 1818, and is the author of such well-known works as "Mumu," "Notes of a Hunter," "Asya," "Fathers and Sons," "Spring Waters," and others. His creativity was characterized by ease of perception and became an important part of Russian literature in Europe.

The creators of the monument aimed for it to harmoniously fit into the architectural ensemble of the residential complex, which combines elements of classicism, art deco, and high-tech.
