The monument to Ivan Alekseevich Bunin, made of bronze, is installed in Voronezh in Bunin Square at the intersection of Plekhanovskaya and Ordzhonikidze Streets. This sculptural depiction of the Nobel Prize-winning writer appeared thanks to a decision by the government of the Russian Federation in 1990. The author of the monument is sculptor Alexander Burganov, a professor at the Moscow State Academic Art and Industry University named after S.G. Stroganov. The granite pedestal was designed by a group of Voronezh architects: V.A. Afonin, N.S. Topoev, and V.Yu. Levin. The monument was donated to the city by the bank 'Voronezh'.

The opening of the monument took place on October 13, 1995, in honor of the 125th anniversary of Bunin's birth. The sculpture depicts the poet at the moment of parting with Russia. He sits on a fallen tree, symbolizing his anxiety and hope, and next to him lies an open book. At Bunin's feet is a dog, symbolizing the departing nobility and loneliness. Although Bunin never had a dog, the authors of the monument decided to embody his dream, described in the last line of the poem 'Loneliness': 'Well, I will light the fireplace, I will drink. It would be nice to buy a dog.'

In September 2010, the pedestal of the monument was repaired.
