The sculptural composition "Artist" was installed on the embankment of Rostov in the summer of 2013 and became part of a series of monuments created to enhance the city's appearance. The author of the bronze sculpture is sculptor Oleg Kukushkin.

The composition depicts an artist painting with a brush on an invisible canvas, holding a palette of colors in the other hand. To take a photo with Oleg Kukushkin's work "Artist," one just needs to stand in the frame. The portraitist, whose prototype is the author himself, stands without a pedestal and creates on an easel without a canvas, inviting passersby to "complete" the painting.

This monument is very popular among tourists and locals, who often take photos as if they are part of the bronze artist's painting.
