Monument to the Heroes of the Russian Expeditionary Corps

Фото 1
The monument to the Russian Expeditionary Corps, which fought in France during World War I (1914-1918), is established in memory of its contribution. After the fall of the Russian Empire, the entire Russian army, including this corps, was disbanded. However, some soldiers and officers continued to fight, creating a new unit called the "Russian Legion of Honor." These soldiers retained the uniform and insignia of the Russian Empire and were the first among the Allied armies to break through the Hindenburg Line. They fought until the end of the war and then went to Russia to fight against the Bolsheviks.
