In Florence, in the Kashine Park, a monument has been erected in honor of the 200th anniversary of the famous Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky. It was created by Russian sculptor Aydin Zeynalov. The height of the monument, including the pedestal, is 3 meters. Dostoevsky is depicted in contemplation, standing with his arms crossed over his chest.

Kashine Park is a historic memorial park in Florence, covering an area of 160 hectares.

The Dostoevsky family spent seven months in Florence. During this time, Fyodor Mikhailovich completed work on the novel "The Idiot," while his pregnant wife was carrying, as he said, their "common idea."

The city is well acquainted with the writer's works. There are "Dostoevsky places" and "Dostoevsky routes" here. The house where "The Idiot" was completed is marked with a commemorative plaque. Dostoevsky's works are included in the school curriculum not only in Florence but throughout Italy.
