The monument to Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky in Tobolsk is located in a square named in his honor, next to the Peter and Paul Church. Its unveiling took place on October 29, 2010, and the author is Mikhail Pereyaslavets, a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, a People's Artist of Russia, and a professor at the Sculpture Department of the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute.

The bronze sculpture depicts Fyodor Dostoevsky sitting on a bench. He spent 10 days in Tobolsk in 1850 while in a transit prison on his way to hard labor in Omsk. The writer is shown sitting on a rough wooden block, with a weary expression and hands calloused from hard work. Next to him lie prison shackles and a Gospel, which was gifted to him by Natalia Fonvizina, the wife of Decembrist Mikhail Fonvizin, who traveled to Siberia with her husband. Dostoevsky never parted with this gift, as other literature was forbidden to him. His constant reading of the Gospel completely changed his worldview, transforming him from a supporter of communist ideas into a convinced Christian.

The location of the monument was agreed upon with the historical council of Tobolsk, as it was in this area that Dostoevsky was held in the transit point.
